Trumbull Regional Honors EMS Providers

WARREN, Ohio – Trumbull Regional Medical Center has honored 19 emergency medical service providers for their work with patients as part of National EMS Week.

“Too often under-appreciated, these heroic men and women are a vital partner in the delivery of health care in our valley, said Ron Bierman, president of Trumbull Regional Medical Center, in a statement. “This is an opportunity to recognize their outstanding contributions to the community and the compassionate care they provide daily. In our most vulnerable times, we can rest assured that quality emergency care is just a call away.”

The awards were presented to those working as emergency responders, emergency medical technicians and paramedics.

Awards were presented in six categories:

Steward of the Community Award – Stephen Kisak, Champion Township Fire Department.

STEMI Care – Kara Shaver and Zachary Bernstein.

Trauma Care – Matthew Gordon, Haley Martin, Daniel Jamison and Michael Hagood, all from the Vienna Fire Department.

Professional of the Year – Thomas Lambert, chief operations officer, Lane LifeTrans.

Lifetime Achievement Award – the late Shawn Bryant, co-founder, PennCare Medical Products.

Life Saving Award – Shawn White, LifeTrans.

Keynote speaker at the award ceremony was Joseph Mistovich, who has worked the past 23 years as chairman of the department of health professions at Youngstown State University. He has more than 63 years of experience in emergency-medicine education and has written 15 textbooks, more than 50 EMS journal articles and spoken at EMS conferences across the country.
