Trumbull Tourism Again Wins National Award

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – For the second straight year, Trumbull County Tourism has won a national award for its annual tourism guide magazine.

The agency won the U.S. Travel Association’s 2022 Destiny Award for printed collateral material.

Awards for excellence in destination marketing and inspiring visitation were given in 33 categories at the USTA’s annual gathering earlier this month.

A judging panel of marketing experts from organizations including JP Morgan Chase, Economic Development Solutions, TripAdvisor, Travel Industry Marketing Association, TourismCares, Hylink North America, and Socialisssima selected the honorees.

Trumbull County Tourism won the same award last year. It beat out destination marketing organizations throughout the United States.

Trumbull County Tourism was the only Ohio destination to win in any category. The Trumbull magazine is a colorful guide that includes information about all the county has to offer to tourists.

“I was very surprised this year because a destination doesn’t usually win two years in a row in the same category,” said Beth Kotwis Carmichael, executive director of Trumbull County Tourism.

“It’s a privilege to represent Trumbull County in such a visible way. I love this opportunity to have our marketing work recognized among other larger destinations.”

Carmichael said the award is testament to the “hard work and passion our team, board and partners puts into promoting our ‘Truly Trumbull’ experiences to a larger audience.”

U.S. Travel Association is a national nonprofit organization representing all travel industry components. Its mission is to increase travel to and within the United States.
