Valley Industrial Trucks Achieves a Record Year

YOUNGSTOWN – Having faced the challenges and fluctuations of its industry for 64 years, Valley Industrial Trucks remains strong and vibrant – and the only remaining locally owned full-service provider of materials handling equipment.

Recent years have been robust for Valley Industrial Trucks and the company is poised to capture even greater market, says President Jim Hammond. Last year marked the 10th consecutive year of growth since he purchased the company in 2009.

“In 2019, Valley Industrial Trucks added several employees, continued expansion into Columbus and saw significant revenue gains and record profits,” Hammond says.

The company once again was recognized by the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association as a Most Valuable Partner. Hammond attributes the company’s growth to hiring the right people for each job and industry awards to its dedication to customer satisfaction.

“Finding the right people with the right experience and training for each position is key to making us operate more efficiently and service our customers,” Hammond says. And this has enabled Valley Industrial Trucks to expand services to include mobile tire pressing.

Another key to the company’s growth is the product lineup, he adds.

Valley invests in new technologies, including the latest in lithium-powered forklifts, which provide huge advantages over the old lead-acid products. This new technology eliminates the need for multiple batteries for each lift truck and improves safety by eliminating battery charging stations, acid, fueling and most maintenance.

“Having the latest technology and knowing your markets’ needs is key to being able to sell and service lift trucks,” Hammond says.
