Valley Students Get Up-close Look at Aviation Industry
VIENNA, Ohio – More than 35 local homeschool students recently got an opportunity to explore the world of aviation and gain insights into the daily operations of an active airport.
Winner Aviation partnered with the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport to host the students for a field trip and airport tour last week.
The event aimed to inspire and educate students about career opportunities in the aviation industry. Students were immersed in a hands-on experience that included guided tours of various aircraft and an up-close look at the runway operations.
“We are thrilled to open our doors to these young, eager minds and showcase the exciting world of aviation,” said Rick Hale, chairman and CEO of Winner Aviation. “The field trip at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport was designed to inspire and educate, and we hope it sparks an interest in the possibilities that aviation holds for these students.”
Mandy Lundstrom, manager of human resources at Winner Aviation, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in encouraging STEM education.
“Aviation is a perfect intersection of STEM disciplines, and we want to inspire these students to pursue careers in fields that will shape the future of aviation and aerospace,” Lundstrom said.
