Valley Unemployment Rates Decline in November
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — County unemployment rates in the region last month eased from October and were down markedly from the same period a year earlier.
Trumbull County posted a 4.4% unemployment rate in November, down from 4.8% in October and from 5.8% in November 2020. Mahoning County’s 4.3% rate last month was down from a 4.8% rate the month before as well and down from 5.7% in November 2020.
Columbiana County’s rate was 4.1% last month, down from 5.1% a year earlier and from 4.4% in November.
Youngstown’s rate was 5.5% in November, down from 6.1% the month before and from 8.3% in November 2020. Warren posted a 5.2% unemployment rate last month, compared with 5.8% the month before and 7.5% in November 2020.
Unemployment for the Youngstown-Warren-Boardman, OH-PA Metropolitan statistical Area, which covers Mahoning and Trumbull counties in Ohio and Mercer County in Pennsylvania, was 4.4% in November, down from 4.9% the month before and 6.0% in November 2020.
