Disney On Ice – with a capital O, as per the marketing department – has become a holiday season tradition in our area, but it’s not the only one.
The Hometown Holidays parade and celebration in downtown Warren is now in its third year. The event will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday on and around Courthouse Square, with a parade at 5 p.m., followed by the tree lighting ceremony. Click HERE for details.
Christmas season concerts that range from country to metal are on tap this weekend.
Country star Martina McBride will bring her Joy of Christmas tour to Packard Music Hall on Saturday. In October, McBride released “Eleven [Deluxe],” a rerelease of her album of the same name that came out 12 years ago, but with four additional tracks. A flurry of seasonal shows at the Robins Theatre begins Friday evening with a 7 p.m. concert by the Dave Banks Big Band. Titled “Pop Goes Christmas,” the show will feature big band versions of songs by Mariah Carey, Elvis Presley, Bruce Springsteen, Chicago, Lou Rawls, Liza Minelli and more. Click HERE.
Christmas with the Celts will mix ancient Irish Christmas carols and modern pop and rock songs – and throw in some Irish dancing – at its 7 p.m. concert Sunday at the Robins. Click HERE.
If the holiday season makes you nostalgic for some good old-fashioned death metal, check out the Winter Thunderland music fest and artists market Saturday at Westside Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown.
