What Skills Are Critical for the Future of our Region? | C-Level Strategy Series with Jon Arnold
In this multipart series, Jon Arnold, president of investment services at J. Arnold Wealth Management, talks with area business leaders about the issues businesses face every day.
On the panel are Barb Ewing, CEO of the Youngstown Business Incubator; Holly Swartz, vice president of Personal Protected; Arthur Daly, senior vice president at Eastern Gateway Community College Youngstown; and Jeff Leo Herrmann, CEO of the Youngstown Publishing Co.
In this video the panel discusses what skills the local workforce will need to help the region grow in the future.
“Advancement will always be there. It will always happen,” said Art Daly, senior vice president at Eastern Gateway Community College.
“It doesn’t matter where you’re getting educated. It matters that you’re learning something that is going to take you to the next level.”
Holly Swartz, vice president of Personal Protected, says that discipline will be an important skill, particularly because of the prevalence of manufacturing jobs in the region.
“Having people be ready to show up on a regular basis is part of that discipline because it’s not something you can work from home and do. You have to be present.
