WRTA’s Lordstown Express Route Beginning Aug. 31
YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio — Starting Aug. 31, a new route by the Western Reserve Transit Authority will make it easier for employees at PurFoods to get to and from work.
The No. 80 Lordstown Express bus will travel twice daily Monday through Friday to and from PurFoods, located at the corner of Mahoning Avenue and Bailey Road in Lordstown.
On those days, the Lordstown Express will leave downtown Youngstown’s Federal Station at 6:10 a.m. and arrive at PurFoods at 6:45 a.m. It will depart PurFoods at 7:05 a.m. and return to Federal Station at 7:40 a.m.
In the afternoon, the bus will depart Federal Station at 2:10 p.m. and arrive at PurFoods at 2:45 p.m., then leave at 3:10 p.m. and return downtown at 3:40 p.m.
When TJX Companies Inc. begins operations of its HomeGoods regional distribution center in Lordstown, the route will be adapted to serve those workers, according to a WRTA release.
Rides on all WRTA buses are free through Dec. 31. Riders, except those using wheelchairs, walkers or canes, must board the bus through the rear door.
Any strollers must be folded before boarding. All riders must wear a face covering while riding.
