YBI Hosting ‘Breaking Boundaries’ Fundraiser

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Youngstown Business Incubator will host a fundraiser for its Women in Entrepreneurship program, “Breaking Boundaries,” featuring Denis DeBartolo York and Manon Rheaume at the Covelli Centre Sept. 14.

Rheaume was the first and only woman to play in an NHL game, making appearances as a goaltender with the Tampa Bay Lightning in 1992 and 1993, and has won two Olympic gold medals with the Canadian national hockey team. DeBartolo York, a resident of Boardman, is co-owner of the San Francisco 49ers.

A meet and greet with the two will begin at 5 p.m. for VIP ticketholders. The She Started It Market and cocktail hour will begin for all attendees at 5:30, followed by the program featuring DeBartolo York and Rheaume at 6:30.

Aafke Loney, co-owner of the Youngstown Phantoms, will serve as moderator for the discussion.

VIP tickets are $75 and general admission tickets are $50. In addition, the incubator is working with the YWCA, Beatitude House and Youngstown State University to provide free tickets to young entrepreneurs.

“While this event’s focus is directed toward women breaking boundaries, it is not strictly a women’s-only event,” the YBI said in announcing the event. “We encourage men to attend, especially those that would like to hear from a panel of strong successful women in business who want to share stories of their success so others may benefit.”
