Youngstown Holiday Parade Slated for Dec. 2

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The annual Youngstown Holiday Parade and Christmas Tree Lighting will be held Dec. 2, with the parade beginning at 6 p.m. and the lighting ceremony at 7 p.m.

Throughout downtown Youngstown, several events are being held in conjunction with the annual tradition. The Youngstown Flea will hold a Holiday Flea at the DeYor Performing Arts Centers from 4 to 8 p.m. On the opposite end of downtown, carolers and vendors selling food and holiday items will take their places on Central Square at 4:30 p.m. At 7:30, “Dueling Pianos” at Suzie’s Dogs and Drafts kick off, as does the Youngstown Phantoms game at Covelli Centre.

The grand marshal for this year’s parade is Suzanne Barbati, executive director of Oh Wow! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science & Technology.

“Ms. Barbati was unanimously voted to serve by the Holiday Committee because of her dedication to the children of our community as well as the city of Youngstown,” said Michael McGiffin, the city’s director of downtown events, in a release.
