Youngstown Library to Host Business Resource Fair

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – The Public Library of Youngstown & Mahoning County will host a Business Resource Fair from 10 a.m. to noon Dec. 9 at the Main Library.

The purpose of the event is to provide small businesses with the opportunity to access local resources to help them grow their existing business or to help those who want to start a new one.

Tables will be staffed by local, state and federal agencies, allowing participants to get one-on-one access to resources and relationships vital to success in business.

“The Business Resource Fair is hosted by the library and participating organizations, including over 25 local, state and federal agencies,” said Stuart Gibbs, PLYMC business and nonprofit specialist. “This is an incredible opportunity for business owners, entrepreneurs and for those aspiring to start their own business to access free resources that might otherwise be unavailable to them.”

Erin Phemester, PLYMC chief experience officer, said the library “seeks to be a contributor to a thriving Mahoning County by creating opportunities for individuals to take the next steps in their journey.”

The Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber is among the organizations that will offer resources at the event.

“The Regional Chamber is excited to talk to businesses about cost-saving programs we offer – for example, health care, payroll processing and energy/natural gas, just to name a few – and a myriad of additional resources that are available for all businesses, regardless of size and industry,” said Kim Calvert, senior vice president of marketing and membership for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber.

“Our director of economic opportunity and inclusion initiatives will also be on hand to discuss specific initiatives that are designed to assist women-, minority- and veteran-owned businesses in our community,” Calvert said.
