Youngstown Ortho Breaks Ground on $14M Medical Building

BOARDMAN, Ohio – Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates is expanding its ability to care for patients by constructing a medical office building adjacent to its surgery center at 8551 Crossroads Drive.

Ground was broken Friday for the $14 million project. The new building will enable YOA to expand the availability of orthopaedic care by creating an outpatient musculoskeletal campus.

“The new facility will allow us to better serve our orthopaedic patients with modern and more efficient patient care in a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere,” said Dr. James P. Jamison, adult reconstructive surgeon at Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates.

Construction of the two-story, 37,000-square-foot office building is expected to be completed in or around September 2023.

Indoor and outdoor rehabilitation areas also are planned, which would enhance the sports medicine program for athletes recovering from injuries. And the building will include a cafeteria for patients and employees.

“Financing was provided by Farmers National Bank of Canfield, and the transaction involved a ground lease and bond issuance with the Western Reserve Port Authority,” said attorney Jude J. Nohra, who represents Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates.

“We anticipate in total an investment of approximately $14 million, which includes common areas accessible to both the Orthopaedic Surgery Center of Youngstown and Youngstown Orthopaedic Associates,” Nohra continued.

All 12 YOA physicians will see patients at the new medical office building, and services will be consolidated at the musculoskeletal campus.

The new construction project and the existing surgery center, built in 2019, account for a combined investment of approximately $21 million, according to Nohra.
