YSU Golfers Heading to Ohio Amateur Championship
YOUNGSTOWN – Youngstown State University men’s golfers Ken Keller and Bryan Kordupel qualified to play in the 115th Ohio Amateur Championship July 26-30 at Avalon Golf & Country Club in Howland.
Keller has qualified for the Ohio Amateur every year since 2017.
Kordupel, a Boardman High School graduate, tied for 11th in a qualifier Tuesday at Portage Country Club in Akron – carding a 1-over 71. Keller, a Cardinal Mooney High School graduate, scored a 4-over 74.
Campbell Memorial High School graduate Dean Austalosh is a first alternate for the amateur tournament after a 75 in Tuesday’s qualifier.
Kordupel earned two top-five and three top-15 finishes this season with YSU, while Keller recently qualified for the 121st North & South Men’s Championship at Pinehurst Resort in Pinehurst, N.C.
Austalosh posted a low round of 77 for the Penguins.
