YSU Preps Next Group of Physical Therapists
The Youngstown State University Doctor of Physical Therapy Program has produced 500 professionals since starting in 2008.
Dr. Nancy Landraff, chairwoman of the Department of Physical Therapy, and Dr. Cara Berg-Carramusa, an assistant professor and clinical education coordinator for the PT program, see the need increasing for both therapists and educators over the next decade.
“Nationally, there’s a big need,” Landgraff said. “Locally, what I do know is that there’s going to be a wave, in the next five to 10 years, of retirements.”
