YSU to Honor Distinguished Professors Wednesday

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – More than 30 faculty at Youngstown State University will be honored Wednesday at the annual Faculty Recognition Awards Dinner.

Among those being honored at the dinner, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Chestnut room, are communications professor Daniel O’Neil with the Faculty Service Award for his 50 years of work at YSU, as well as engineering professor Hojjat Mehri and nursing professor Pamela Schuster for 35 years.

In addition, Patrick J. Bateman, department of management, and Ken Learman, department of physical therapy, were awarded the Distinguished Professor Designation. Other awards include the Excellence Award for department Chairman in scholarship to Joseph J. Mistovich, department of health professions; the Excellence Award for department chairwoman in teaching to Nancy Landgraff, department of physical therapy; and Watson Merit Awards to Bruce Keillor, department of marketing; and W. Gregg Sturrus, department of physics & astronomy.
