YSU’s Marching Pride Starts Season with Two Shows

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Youngstown State University’s Marching Pride will be holding two performances for the start of the marching band season.

Meet the Marching Pride is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 26 at Stambaugh Stadium. The event is free and open to the public, although a free-will donation to support the Marching Pride will be accepted.

Fans will preview the music the YSU Marching Pride will perform during Penguin’s football games this fall. In addition, the band will be perfecting their drill design so those in attendance will see how a marching band performs on the field.

The Marching Pride will perform during half time of the Penguins’ season opener against the Pitt Panthers at Heinz Field Sept. 2 in Pittsburgh. The YSU Office of Alumni Engagement and the Penguin Club are hosting a “Floating Tailgate on the Gateway Clipper” that day from 10 a.m. to noon before the 1 p.m. kickoff. Pricing is $35 per person for YSU Alumni or Penguin Club members and $40 for the general public which includes a buffet lunch and cash bar.
