Trumbull Arts Council, TNP Host Garden Crawl

WARREN, Ohio – As part of a joint effort between the Fine Arts Council of Trumbull County and the Trumbull Neighborhood Partnership, the third annual Garden Crawl and Party on the Porch will be held July 8. Both events are free.

The Garden Crawl is a walking tour of the city’s Garden District, highlighting a dozen sites, including gardens, public art projects and housing efforts facilitated by TNP. Tours leave from 195 Belmont Ave NE at 4:15 and 4:30 p.m. Trolley tours are available for those unable to walk.

“This event represents an opportunity to share a true neighborhood revitalization story as it unfolds in Warren,” said TNP executive director Matt Martin. “The neighborhood still has challenges, but the progress forward is undeniable. We invite everyone to come see what has been done.”

Party at the Porch, which begins at 5 p.m., is a “block party-style picnic” with free food, music and prizes held at the Warren Amphitheater in downtown. Carlos Jones, a reggae artist from Cleveland, will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. Free transportation to the amphitheater from the Garden District will be provided until 6 p.m.

As part of the day’s events, the Central City Unity Garden, on the corner of Washington Avenue and Mercer Street just north of downtown, will dedicate a Little Free Library at 5:30 p.m.
