Adult Learners Open House Slated For MCCTC

CANFIELD – It is not too late to start training this fall for a new career path.

The Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will hold two open houses for prospective adult students to learn about their programs for enrollment this fall.

The first is from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, and the second from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 1.

The school will be open and the public is invited to explore career-training programs including welding, automotive technology, medical assistant, medical office specialist, EMT and firefighter levels I and II.

Campus tours will take place for the duration of both open house events and student services will be available to discuss potential funding sources to help pay for the education programs.

According to Jodi Glass, MCCTC adult career center recruiter and marketing coordinator, local businesses call the MCCTC daily wanting to interview adult graduates of the school’s programs.

In 2021, the 52 technical centers across the state had a 96% job placement rate and there are needs for skilled workers right here in the Mahoning Valley, Glass says.

The MCCTC is located on Palmyra Road in Canfield.
