HD Davis CPAs Staff Gets Job Done from Anywhere

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – In 2021, HD Davis CPAs was recognized by Accounting Today as one of the top-10 small firms “Best Firms to Work For” as well as one of the top-three firms on the list of “Best Firms for Women.” This can be attributed to the work we’ve done in our workplace culture.

The biggest advancement our team has made in the past year, beyond surviving a worldwide pandemic, is to go paperless and create a fully online system for our team to work in. This allows for our team to fully embrace the “work anytime, work anywhere” mentality.

At our firm, family and personal obligations are just as, if not more, important than professional obligations, allowing our team to create a flexible schedule. Alongside creating a fully operational online system, we have worked with our clients to create a more seamless experience for them.

Our team is also very community-minded. Each year we work with a nonprofit (voted on by our employees) to dedicate funds, volunteer time and more to their cause. In 2021, our team hosted the first-ever “YOlympics” and raised $17,500 for the Melina Michelle Edenfield Foundation. Over the course of the last five years, we’ve raised more than $75,000 for local charities.

Also worthy of note is our benefits package. In 2021 we were able to add paid parental leave for both parents to our benefits. We also partnered with a local meal preparation service to offer three well-balanced meals per week for our team during tax season. 

Additional benefits include an annual membership to Sam’s Club, up to $200 in clothing branded for HD Davis, and up to $500 for healthy lifestyle reimbursement that our employees can use to pay for additional meals, gym memberships, fitness trackers and more. All of the members of our management team also have access to a personal business coach for help with leadership and communication development.

Beyond the statistical accomplishments of our company, we strive to make work a fun place for everyone. We host company lunches, outings, parties, competitions and more on a regular basis.

Because of these many attributes of our company culture, we have been able to grow our company (in revenue) by more than 20% for the last four years. We are on track to exceed that again in 2022.
