Inspiring Minds Explore Careers at College Expo

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – A group of about 300 students in grades 1 through 8 attended Youth College Expo Day June 29 at Kent State University at Trumbull. The students explored career choices by attending a variety of workshops at the event, sponsored by Inspiring Minds. The workshops focused on education, college readiness, art, personal branding, financial literacy and other topics. The university has been partnering with Inspiring Minds for years but this was the first time the event took place at the campus in Champion.

“We wanted to introduce our students to a college experience,” said Renda White, K-8 coordinator for Inspiring Minds. Although college may not be for everyone, White said it is important to give young students an introduction to every opportunity.
