Great Co-Workers: Mercy Health Leads Nominations

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Five employees of Mercy Health Youngstown separately nominated 15 of their co-workers. The hospital system ranked first in the number of submissions in our Great Co-Workers campaign.

Angela Adkins, RN hospice clinical manager; Tracy Rowland, RN hospice clinical manager; Paula Durkin, hospice manager of psychosocial services; and Marijo Shuntich, RN hospice inpatient manager

These hospice leaders work closely and collaborate to meet the needs of our agency, patients and associates. They always find a way to celebrate the accomplishments of those around them.

The Mercy Health Youngstown nursing leaders create an environment where attributes of trust, compassion, mutual respect, professional development and ethical behavior are modeled and supported. I have had the opportunity to see each of them go above and beyond their job to assist either a patient or an employee to overcome a situation with positive impact.

The leadership team of Behavioral Health and Recovery Services is one of the best and brightest in the business. They are willing to think outside the box to work on innovative new ideas to improve patient care and throughput. I always know with them by my side, we will always provide the highest quality care and get the best outcomes possible for our patients.

I have been blessed to work with Sue for more than 16 years. Her wit and charm makes those stressful days much more manageable. She is always willing to educate and explain. I not only call her a friend, but my mentor. She forever made an impression on me and how I want to care for others.
