Mellencamp to Play Stambaugh Auditorium Feb. 19

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – John Mellencamp will perform at Stambaugh Auditorium Feb. 19 as part of 2019 “The John Mellencamp Show” tour. The show will begin at 8 p.m. and will not have an opening act.

The tour will feature some of his classic songs – he’s known for hits such as “Jack & Diane,” “Hurt So Good” and “Pink Houses” – as well as pieces from his new album, “Other People’s Stuff,” to be released in November.

Tickets will go on sale 10 a.m. on Sept. 21. Purchasing information can be found at Mellencamp.com. Physical copies of his new album will be included in the purchase of a ticket.

With more than 35 years under his belt as a singer and songwriter, Mellencamp has won Grammy Awards, the Woody Guthrie Award, the Americana Music Association’s Lifetime Achievement Award and is a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was inducted in to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June. He also headlined the Canfield Fair in 2017.

The concert won’t be the only appearance of Mellencamp’s works in Youngstown in the coming months. On Sept. 20, an exhibit at the Butler Institute of American Art, “John Mellencamp: Expressionist,” will feature 42 of his oil paintings and mixed-media works. The exhibit runs through Nov. 18.
