YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Referrals to Easterseals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties increased by 40% last year. “We see this growth as a cause for celebration, while also recognizing our increased responsibility,” says Jody Klase, CEO.
In 2022, the agency added kindergarten readiness and an after-school program; a respite summer camp; and school-based behavioral health services, she says. Success rates increased at its Adult Day Center, Outpatient Medical Rehabilitation Program, and Community Center for the Deaf, with 90% of clients meeting their treatment goals.
Easterseals’ home-delivered meals and transportation services provided over 120,000 meals and 8,000 trips last year.
Looking ahead, Easterseals plans to expand school-based services by creating an early childhood learning environment and expanding its outpatient medical rehabilitation program.
