CANFIELD, Ohio – The number of patients served by Yellow Brick Place Cancer Wellness Center served last year more than doubled the previous year’s total.
“We obtained a significant 115% increase,” says Kathleen Moliterno, executive director.
Moliterno is the first person hired for her position. She put the agency’s growth plan into motion, with the help of many volunteers.
Moliterno attributes the growth to a brand awareness campaign. The plan included creating a client-centered brochure, a new website, better donor experiences, and new client programs.
To reach people diagnosed with cancer, YBP distributed its brochure and event flyers to cancer centers, hospitals and social workers.
Its website garnered 3,400 users in the nine months since it launched. “Having a resource available 24/7 has proven to be extremely helpful, as many inquiries come in the middle of the night,” Moliterno says.
The website also made it easier for donors to give money to the agency.
Looking forward, Yellow Brick Place will evaluate its office in Canfield and its service area. It plans to increase its use of social media and other brand awareness efforts.
The agency offers support and education to cancer patients and those closest to them. All services are free.
