YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – For CTW Development Corp., 2023 is already shaping up to be a busy year as the company continues to build at its Westford Lifestyle Community in Canfield.
The developer is nearing completion of its upscale extended-stay hotel at Westford, Marriott Towneplace and Springhill Suites. The new suites are under construction between the Westford Commons retail plaza along U.S. Route 224 and Westford’s Kennsington Golf Club.
The new hotel will feature 101 suites that are larger than typical hotel rooms, with separate living, working and sleeping spaces.
Additional developments planned for this year at Wexford include the construction of a 20,000-square-foot office complex and the groundbreaking for an assisted living facility, scheduled for mid-summer.
CTW, formed in 1987 by Chuck Whitman, has developed more than 1.5 million square feet of Class A office and retail space, along with more than 600 residential homes in and around the Mahoning Valley and elsewhere in Ohio.
Westford has come off the heels of a very successful 2022, which was dominated by industry accolades and outstanding public response at
Kennsington and Waypoint 4180, a 26,000- square-foot events center that’s among the area’s premier venues for weddings and gatherings.
In June 2022, the Courtyard Marriot Youngstown-Canfield was proud to learn it had been awarded two high honors by Marriott International.
The hotel scored in the top 3% in guest satisfaction surveys and received the diamond circle award, among Marriott International’s highest property-level awards. The hotel also received a guest service satisfaction award in food and beverage.
Kennsington Golf Club and Grille also enjoyed a successful 2022.
Kennsington Grille’s Summer Music on the Patio will return this year because of the outstanding response last year. Early bookings for outdoor parties and events point to another strong season in 2023.
Kennsington Golf Club has also introduced a new fleet of EZ-Go golf carts in preparation for the warmer months.
Waypoint 4180 will host its first bridal show March 12. The response from vendors and brides is so strong that the show will likely become an annual event. The Kennsington Golf Simulator Lounge, located below Waypoint 4180, last year added an all-new catering menu and will be available for party rentals year-round.
Rounding out 2022, Graphic Detail Inc., of Kent installed a new Watchfire LED sign at Westford along Route 224.
