YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Dearing Compressor and Pump Co. found a “very hectic” environment in 2022 as it returned to a more traditional business approach.
CEO Becky Wall says the company was confronted with suppliers that were unable to keep up with demand, as well as delivery issues from the regular supply chain.
“But because of our forward-thinking team of employees, Dearing survived, and the business outlook for 2023 is positive,” Wall says.
The company, which was founded in 1945, has 200 employees who support operations in Youngstown, Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Its focus is on core customer groups in the industrial and energy markets.
“Dearing is forging ahead. Just like Youngstown, Dearing is built to last,” Wall says. “We believe in basic family values, taking the good with the bad and developing long-term relationships with our employees, customers and business partners. During the last three years, the world was focused on day-to-day survival and short-term gain. The time is now for us to get to work on the long-term plan for the next wave of business.”
Manufacturers are struggling with the rising cost of raw materials, utilities and basic operational expenses, and energy companies are hampered by supply constraints, she notes. Dearing is determined to solve problems, reduce waste and offer customers alternatives to lower their costs and improve reliability.
For example, customers struggling to maintain a trained workforce in their maintenance departments have looked to Dearing for help, Wall says.
“Dearing is working with our customers to clearly define their needs and help to create programs that go from filling small gaps in their internal maintenance programs to providing full lifecycle services,” she says. “For all these reasons, Dearing is looking to implement the latest tools and technologies with the goal of improving our ability to live up to customer requirements in this economic climate.”
