WARREN – Becoming an independent insurance agency amid the pandemic, Platt Insurance is active in Mahoning Valley communities while pursuing new opportunities for business growth.
In 2022, the business insurance agency added new carriers to better meet the needs of its business clientele, updated its phone systems and added new client management technologies, according to owner Ellie Platt.
“We’ve continued to give our clients options for how they prefer to interact with us,” she says.
Platt Insurance, which became Better Business Bureau accredited in 2022, finished renovations on its new Howland office building and consolidated all but the Sebring office into that location.
Also in 2022, Platt agents completed education and certification to become “farm certified,” allowing each of them to better serve the local farming communities, Platt says.
Staff members also continued to pursue credentials through The National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.
Platt Insurance employs 11.
The agency participated in and sponsored many local events in 2022. Among them were the Panerathon, the Science of Brewing at Oh Wow!, Youngstown Light Up Night and the Mahoning County Special Olympics.
Platt says 2022 “was an incredible year focused on building a strong foundation for future growth. We finished our new office and have a great team with the experience and skills to make 2023 even better.”
The agency plans on hiring two licensed agents for in-office positions in 2023. More staff is needed to accommodate projected growth in business, farm and life insurance, as well as general personal lines, Platt says.
The agency is seeking to strengthen its relationships with referral partners, such as mortgage lenders, real estate agents and other local professionals, she says.
Platt is on the board of the Better Business Bureau of Mahoning Valley.
