LIBERTY – HD Davis CPAs made a big move in 2022.
The firm relocated to a new office at Churchill Park Plaza, 4308 Belmont Ave. in Liberty Township. The 30,000-square-foot headquarters provides more space and other benefits for its team and clients, including a training room, conference rooms, kitchen, coffee bar, reception area and a studio for content creation.
“We set out to change the standard of what it’s like to work at a CPA firm,” says Tim Petrey, managing partner. “Working at HD Davis isn’t easy. We demand quality from our team. We push people to give their best effort and care about the work they do. But we provide opportunities to build a career with purpose.”
In 2022, the firm and its sister company, White Glove Payroll, acquired Sforza & Walker CPAs. Henry Sforza and John Marlatt joined HD Davis as partners of the merged firm, and Sforza & Walker’s staff was retained.
HD Davis CPAs experienced 15% revenue growth in 2022, Petrey says.
The firm received several recognitions in 2022. Accounting Today ranked the firm No. 1 in the country for Best Accounting Firms for Women and No. 3 for Best Firms to Work For. Crain’s Cleveland Business ranked the firm No. 2 out of 26 for Best Employers in Ohio. HD Davis also received recognition from BDO Alliance for Workplace Culture.
“We are humbled by the recognition and appreciate the talent we continue to attract thanks to our efforts in creating the best work environment possible,” Petrey says. “HD Davis experienced an explosive 52% increase in personnel with a 2% to 3% voluntary turnover rate.”
The firm has been part of several projects to restore Belmont Avenue and the Youngstown area. As part of its HD Change Campaign, in which team members choose a charity to dedicate time and resources, the firm raised $20,000 for the Animal Welfare League of Trumbull County. It also provided nearly $5,000 worth of supplies and employees spent time volunteering.
