LEAVITTSBURG — Mahoning River Adventure saw a slight decrease in the number of people it got out paddling on the river but still had a small increase in revenue, likely resulting from an increase in customers from outside the area.
The company had a steady flow of travelers scheduling outings on short trips (3.66 miles), says owner Moneen McBride. But the company could not offer the long trip (11 miles) because of logs and woody debris on the river.
Mahoning River Adventure started offering some branded merchandise (T-shirts, hats, sunglasses, day trip coolers, dry bags) in 2022. This year, the company will offer new kayak courses for youth and adults with a certified, American Canoe Association instructor.
