YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Molly Maid of Mahoning and Trumbull Counties surpassed $1.3 million in sales in 2022, a 15.3% increase over the previous year.
The company reached a new high in the third quarter by maintaining a sales level of $27,000 per week, according to owner Katie Burkey. The surge continued into the fourth quarter as the company hit almost $38,000 in sales the week before Thanksgiving.
The local franchise projects growth will continue this year. It has added staff to meet that goal and now has over 30 employees, Burkey says. Two team members were promoted last year with Paula Fuhri named office manager and Heather Hazel sales estimator.
As an owner training center for the national franchise company, the local Molly Maid branch trained three owners in 2022, bringing its total to over 25. Burkey says each new owner trainee spends one week with the business to learn best practices.
Already this year, Molly Maid has upgraded its website, marketing strategy and hiring platforms, she says.
Every October, The Mahoning-Trumbull staff participates in the Ms. Molly Foundation’s Making a Difference Drive, which raises money for the Sojourner House and Someplace Safe shelters.
The 2022 drive was the most successful one ever, raising over $10,000 and filling 24 totes with goods, Burkey says. Clients, staff and patrons gave monetary donations and toiletries, diapers and school supplies. Since 1996, Molly Maid of Mahoning/Trumbull has raised $54,390 in monetary donations. In October, the local franchise was awarded the Ms. Molly Making a Difference Award for the second time.
Molly Maid of Mahoning/Trumbull Counties, founded in 1993, also serves Columbiana and Mercer counties.
The company was recently named to Franchise Business Review’s Top 200 Franchises for the seventh year in a row. Molly Maid is also an Entrepreneur Magazine Franchise 500 recipient.
