CANFIELD, Ohio – Platz Realty Group sold 96 commercial properties and leased 54 spaces in 2022, totaling more than 2 million square-feet sold or leased in the tri-county area.
Investment properties were a major component of sales in 2022. Platz agents sold nine apartment complexes for more than $19 million, with owner and partner Adam Divelbiss selling eight of them. The agency saw an increase in commercial and industrial land sales, with more than $7 million in land sold. Owner and partner Matthew Wilson sold land in Trumbull, Columbiana and Mahoning counties.
Some of the largest transactions closed by Bill Kutlick, one of Platz’s most experienced sales agents, included the sale of the former Loves Furniture buildings in Boardman and Niles and the Starbucks/Chipotle, a triple net lease investment property, in Cortland.
Other notable sales and leases in 2022 include: 23 Federal Plaza in Youngstown; multitenant office investments at 8170 South Ave., 7461 South Ave. and 7341 Eisenhower Drive in Boardman; 1090 Boardman Poland Road in Boardman; 4373 Boardman Canfield Road (land) in Canfield; as well as warehouse spaces leased in Girard; and the building at 365 McClurg Road in Boardman.

In 2023, Platz is looking to expand into western Pennsylvania with the addition of broker/agent Tim O’Brien. Platz is also adding agent Ray Boyd to focus on opportunities in Columbiana County.
“The economic horizon for 2023 looks bright. Working with developers, we anticipate Q2 announcements of new spec industrial buildings to address the constant inquiries,” says agent Dan Crouse.
