SALEM – Salem Regional Medical Center is continuing to grow and expand.
In early 2022, SRMC announced plans to build one of the largest medical facilities in the area, a multimillion dollar outpatient medical pavilion at Firestone Farms TownCenter in Columbiana.
The SRMC Surgery and Outpatient Pavilion, a 76,600-square-foot facility expected to open this fall, will include an ambulatory surgery center, advanced medical imaging, an infusion center and multispecialty physician offices, says Michael Santillo, director of marketing and public relations.
SRMC, which was established in 1913, will continue to expand beyond its traditional service area in 2023 with the launch of SRMC Primary Care-Canfield in the Millennial Moments development to be built at U.S. Route 224 and Palmyra Road. The outreach office will offer comprehensive primary care and diagnostic services with walk-in availability.
Also as part of its ongoing efforts to expand access to medical care and specialized services, SRMC, which has 698 employees, welcomed new physicians in 2022, Santillo says.
Dr. Joseph N. Miladore, a family medicine physician, joined Dr. Stephanie Raynish and Dr. Steven Swain at SRMC Primary Care in Salem. Dr. Athena Beis, a board-certified internist, was named medical director of SRMC’s Wound Healing Center.
The University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center at SRMC welcomed two cancer specialists last fall. Dr. Igor Genkin serves as medical director and Dr. Ranga Brahmamdam provides advanced cancer care for patients.
In March 2022, SRMC earned the Healthgrades Patient Safety Excellence Award as one of the top 10% of hospitals in the nation. In October, the American Hospital Association presented SRMC with a 100-year anniversary award for leadership and advancing the health of the community.
