STONEBORO, Pa. – Big Dog RC hosted national-level events on its racetracks and drag strip in 2021 and will do the same this year. The business is one of the top-rated indoor and outdoor radio-controlled (RC) model car racetracks in the country, say owners John and Robin Raskob of Sandy Lake, Pa.
In 2021, Big Dog RC hosted several events for the Midwest Series Nitro RC Club, which has been around for over 50 years. The event is expected to return this year, John Raskob says.
Also this year, Big Dog will host one of the races in the Tamiya RC national championship tournament. Tamiya RC of Japan is one of the largest RC manufacturers in the world.
Big Dog recently added a certified, 1/10 scale drag strip with all the lights and technology of a full-size strip.
It also has an outdoor high-speed asphalt oval track and an on-road course. Construction continues on its large “rock crawler” course.
Indoors, Big Dog RC has a dedicated dirt off-road track of 4,200 square feet with over 400 tons of clay. Also, a 75-foot by 30-foot dirt oval offers racing three times a week.
