CTW to Build Extended-Stay Suites at Westford

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Work is underway on two Marriott extended-stay complexes at the Westford Lifestyle Community just behind the Westford Commons retail plaza in Canfield.

An upscale Marriott Springhill Suites and Marriott Towneplace Suites will add new overnight and extended-stay hotel options for travelers, according to project developer CTW Development Corp.

Westford Lifestyle, just off U.S. Route 224, plans to expand its services with the addition of a 129-room assisted living complex that will occupy land adjacent to the new development.

Businessman Chuck Whitman established CTW, a commercial and residential development company, in 1987. Since then, the company has developed more than 1.5 million square feet of class A office and retail space and more than 600 residential home sites in and around the Mahoning Valley and elsewhere in Ohio.

Kennsington Golf Club and Grille welcomed new management in the summer of 2021 and has added new features such as a happy hour, daily and weekly specials, and a new full menu, says Rich Sedoris, advertising and marketing manager.  For the warmer months, Kennsington Grille will be adding a wet bar to the outdoor patio.

Last year, Waypoint 4180, a 26,000-square-foot events center in the Westford complex, welcomed a new director of sales and event planning. The venue’s modular layout can accommodate weddings, showers, banquets, corporate events and small functions, Sedoris says.

2021 also saw the opening of the Kennsington Golf Simulator Lounge at the Waypoint 4180 events center. The simulators use proprietary software to offer an interactive golf experience on more than 100 championship courses with real-time ball data and player feedback.

The lounge is equipped with 11 televisions, a full bar, an all-new food menu as well as a putting green and pool table. This year, the venue will add daily specials and a new drink menu this year.

In 2021, CTW donated a new LED sign supplied by Watchfire Signs and Graphic Detail in Kent for the new ticket booth at the Boardman High School football stadium.

Additional Watchfire signs will be installed on CTW Development properties this year. One sign will be positioned at the intersection of South Raccoon Road and Route 224 to promote retail businesses. A larger sign will grace the entrance to Westford Commons between Panera Bread and Wendy’s.
