COLUMBIANA, Ohio – Sweet Melissa’s Good Eats is marking its fifth year of business at its store here, 6810 Market St., and is celebrating the grand opening of its second location, which is in Firestone Farms TownCenter in Columbiana.
“Over the last five years, we’ve continued to grow both with our ever-increasing customer base and our online service,” says Melissa Poland, owner. “Our online service grew more popular with customers during the pandemic. We had to upgrade our equipment, add a second employee to the prep area and expand the kitchen to accommodate the extra workload and excess orders.”
Customers appreciate being able to order and pay online and then stop at the store to pick up their order without any wait, Poland says.
Carryout business also increased in 2021.
Sweet Melissa’s started in 2017 with seven employees. Today, it has 27 on its payroll and that number will steadily climb as the Columbiana location grows, Poland says.
