YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio – Coming off a year of expansion, Servpro Team Dobson is poised to continue its growth into new markets.
In late 2021, Servpro purchased four franchise licenses in Cuyahoga County, moving into the Cleveland market.
The Team Dobson footprint now spans 12 counties in northeastern Ohio, the owners say.
The company has increased its workforce to more than 200 since purchasing its first license, for Mahoning County, in 2011.
“We seemed to have found our groove around that time,” says co-owner Katie Dobson. “We became so stabilized in our processes and procedures that we were able to duplicate them, making a blueprint for success in areas that were new to Servpro.”
The company is “putting finishing touches” on its Erie County, Pa., franchises that it purchased in 2020, which will also serve Crawford and Venango counties, says co-owner Andrew Dobson.
“These franchises provide immediate support and help to the residents and business owners of Erie County with excellent response times,” he says.
Recently, Servpro Team Dobson relocated its mitigation and janitorial teams to a new building adjacent to its Youngstown Road headquarters in Warren. The new site will support increased demand, the company’s equipment and fleet of more than 100 commercial vehicles.
“We are always looking at situations around us that can help in serving the customer better,” Katie Dobson says.
“We believe in taking advantage of some of these opportunities to provide lasting jobs for our employees and strengthen our commitment to serving the valley. That’s very important to us,” she says.
The new franchises offer a full complement of services, including water, fire and biohazard cleanup, as well as carpet cleaning, HVAC cleaning, reconstruction services, asbestos abatement and storm damage response.
Last year, the Dobson Storm Response Team traveled some 6,500 miles in the United States to support victims of storm damage.
“Having the necessary resources and the people who are trained to work in this setting makes us quite unique in the Servpro system,” says co-owner Jimmy Dobson. “Doing this work and still being able to care for those here at home at the same time is a good feeling.”
