CANFIELD, Ohio – The elderly population that Blue Sky Therapy serves is the one most vulnerable to COVID-19. When the pandemic hit, 500 Blue Sky clinicians working in nursing homes had to change their practices because they were no longer permitted to visit.
In response, Blue Sky implemented a telehealth program for those in outpatient care on March 16 – well before many others in the industry.
Renee Halfhill, CEO, decided it was more important to keep services intact even though new payment protocols were not yet in place. The company intends to continue telehealth services after the pandemic ends.
Blue Sky Therapy is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year with a goal of continued growth and dedication to the more than 30,000 lives it impacts each year.
The company provides physical, occupational and speech rehabilitation services, with a strong presence in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and home health settings in four states.
Additionally, Blue Sky Therapy operates six outpatient physical therapy clinics in Ohio and Florida.
