LAKE MILTON – Alexis and Conor Chrystal purchased Lake Milton Pharmacy in December 2019 with a goal of expanding services and products while continuing to serve the community.
“We were hoping to make a few improvements and additions in our first year of ownership and then COVID-19 hit just four months into running the pharmacy,” Chrystal says. “We realized that many customers had questions on what they should do. They were relying on us to be a resource. From symptoms to immunity-boosting vitamins to where to go to be tested, we tried to be a calm voice during so much unrest.”
The pharmacy, founded in 1978, began offering curbside pickup and delivery service to those most vulnerable to the virus. It also started offering immunizations and expects to become a COVID-19 vaccination center.
“When we took over, we said our customers could expect to receive the same great service and personal care they’ve been accustom to,” says Chrystal. “During this time of great uncertainty, we wanted to make sure all of our customers were still able to receive their medication while feeling safe and comfortable. Whether that meant bringing it out to their vehicle or dropping it off at their front door, we wanted to make the extra effort to do our part to keep our community safe.”
The pharmacy recently began renting space to QuickMed Urgent Care, which offers a variety of services for those who don’t have a primary care physician or need a quick diagnosis for a non-life-threatening emergency. Patients can now see a health care professional and get prescriptions filled, all under one roof.
The store at 17674 Mahoning Ave. also offers a full hardware section with plans to increase the products available to better accommodate what customers are looking for to finish any home improvement project no matter how big or small.
Lake Milton Pharmacy has nine employees.
