Gem-Young Exceeds Goals, Adds to Staff

CANFIELD — With new goals, new employees and its new “It’s Personal” motto, Gem-Young Insurance & Wealth Advisors “blew through” its 2020 goals, says CEO Leo Daprile Sr.

“Bringing in new ways of enhancing the client relationship, while keeping the personal touch of a Valley-based agency remains our focus for 2021 and beyond,” he says.

One of the goals of the risk management and wealth advisory firm was to strike a balance between personal and commercial insurance. Traditionally focused more on personal insurance, Gem-Young made strides to get closer to a 50/50 split last year, and added more wealth management clients.

Additionally, the firm hired two advisers and one account manager and restructured the staff, Daprile says.

Gem-Young allowed clients into its offices under specific protocols to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. The firm also allowed advisers to work from home when needed and use virtual client meeting software to maintain “candid and vulnerable conversations” with clients, Daprile says.

Today, Daprile’s sons, Leo Jr. and Stephen, represent the third generation of the Daprile family at Gem-Young.
