Window World Gets National Award

BOARDMAN – The Moran family, owner of seven Window World franchises, was honored with an award from the corporate president last year.

The Grenade Award, presented by Window World Inc. President Steve Kamody, goes to store owners who create a strong impact in their community. It was bestowed during the semiannual Window World National Family Reunion, which was a virtual event in 2020 because of the pandemic. The Reunion drew together the owners of 228 Window World branches nationwide and celebrated the company’s 25th anniversary.

“The Moran family was selected because as movers and shakers, they helped shape Window World into who we are today,” Kamody said.

The Grenade Award was a feather in the cap for the Morans, who own and operate Window World stores in Youngstown, Pittsburgh, Toledo,
Akron, Cleveland, Detroit and Weirton, W.Va. Active family members include Fred Moran; his son, Pat; and Pat’s children Patrick and Mandi Moran-Fluck.

It was an atypical year for the replacement window franchisees, with sales booming for windows, doors and siding, but longer lead times due to issues on the manufacturing end.

“We are grateful for our customers continuing to choose Window World and appreciate their patience as we work our way through the extended lead times,” says Pat Moran. “We are already seeing improvement.”

Another bright spot will arrive in May when Tammy Whitworth, chairman and CEO of Window World Inc., visits the Mahoning Valley as keynote speaker for the Youngstown/Warren Regional Chamber’s Athena Award.
