Chappell’s Framing Brings New Life to Art

SALEM – Chappell’s House of Pictures & Framing noticed a trend in 2020 which the owner attributes to the pandemic.

“Most of our framing was for personal and sentimental items,” says owner Donna Chappell. “Clients are spending more time at home, and some want a fresh look for an older picture.”

Chappell’s fills that request by using the new color trends in matting and by changing the existing molding to a more contemporary frame.

The company expanded its online framing design service. Partnering with several print publishers, it can also offer new works of art. “Several businesses have done ‘history walls,’ by framing vintage photos and company memorabilia to show how their business has grown,” Chappell says.

The company, which frames artwork and personal treasures, will mark its 60th year in 2021. It is located at 1368 Eastview Drive.
