GREENVILLE, Pa. – Thiel College launched or began five master’s degree programs in 2020 and launched a campuswide renovation project.

Over the summer, students at Thiel College began taking classes in the masters of science in speech-language pathology program and in the management MBA and leadership MBA programs.

In late August, Thiel undergraduates returned to campus for in-person classes. The college made it through the entire fall semester with in-person classes. With the same anti-virus protocols in place, students will again attend in-person classes this spring and will also begin participation in a limited schedule of varsity athletics.

Joining the three graduate programs that launched during the summer, classes will begin this summer in the new master of science in physician assistance and the college has launched its new master of arts in counseling.

The college is in the middle of a $15 million plan that will upgrade facilities and give the campus a facelift.

First phase work is underway or has been recently concluded, with a total of $3.2 million in local contracts awarded.

Improvements in the Rhodehouse Science Building will unfold over this academic year, with the graduate floor opening in July.

The construction in Phase 1 is supported by $1 million for improvements to laboratories, classrooms and common areas awarded to the college through the  Pennsylvania Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program.

In the face of the pandemic, the entire housekeeping staff put in extra effort to keep students and staff safe. They will be recognized at the annual Founders’ Day celebration in February.
