Pandemic Reunites MicroForce Founders

GIRARD –  After starting their careers together in the 1980s and then going their separate ways for more than 25 years, Mark Zuppo and Tim Shannon, who founded MicroForce East, were reunited in March by the pandemic.

The company uses emerging technologies such as probiotic cleaners and disinfectant surface coatings to help organizations combat COVID-19, MRSA, E. coli and VRE and other health concerns.

Among the company’s clients are local school systems, nursing homes, supermarkets, restaurants and the Youngstown Police Department, says Zuppo, sales manager.

Products used by MicroForce contain no hazardous chemicals, adds Shannon, clinical application director. “It was very important for all products to be eco-friendly and sustainable,” he says.

Beyond the coronavirus, cleaning methods used by MicroForce can be used to mitigate MRSA, E. coli and bacteria infections.
