SALEM – Staff and supporters of Community Hospice-Columbiana stepped up to provide extra care in 2020. With its annual fundraiser canceled, the team put together a virtual event that raised $7,000 to support patient care. “Two of our big prize winners even donated their winnings back,” says Mona Sayer, fundraising and events coordinator.
Local businesses also helped. After she had difficulty with an insurance company in getting a patient’s medical equipment, Herche Bloor Pharmacy in East Liverpool stepped in and “took care of everything,” says Barbie Lutton, a registered nurse.
