LEAVITTSBURG – Mahoning River Adventures, founded in 2018, operates out of Canoe City Metropark at 75 N. Leavitt Road NW.
As a kayak rental company, it was heavily impacted by social distancing mandates.
“Our shuttles typically hold 16 to 18 passengers safely. But we were advised by the state and by our attorneys that only eight people would be allowed in each shuttle – cutting business in half,” says Moneen McBride, owner.
Trips were adjusted to accommodate an increasing number of customers and all equipment was cleaned and disinfected between trips.
“We were able to expand our business to record-breaking numbers and serve a much greater number of customers than in the previous two years,” McBride says.
“We are quite certain the people of Warren and the surrounding area will crave outdoor activity in 2021 as well. Therefore we are investing in more kayaks, life jackets, paddles, transportation efforts and employees.”
