WARREN – Building design and construction contractors were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic in early March, and Phillips|Sekanick Architects Inc. was no exception.
“While not realizing planned growth in 2020, Phillips|Sekanick experienced a balanced revenue stream that matched prior years,” architect Bruce Sekanick says.
Phillips|Sekanick, founded in 1916, has nine employees, including five registered architects.
Sekanick says the firm maintained full employment throughout the year.
“With software, hardware and communication systems put in place to provide employee flexibility, the move to a remote workplace was less disruptive than others who rely on a physical place of business,” he says.
Phillips|Sekanick advanced its reputation for the design and development of hospitality, retail and food service facilities, he says. Among local projects was the Eastwood Event Centre in Niles.
Sekanick is the president of the American Institute of Architects Ohio Foundation.
